Trailer frames are intelligent devices that allow a person to a second towing vehicle without a driver. They can be installed in a few minutes without tools and can be stored in a trunk of the car.

We tested the new 2009 Ford F-150 equipped with a 5.4L three-valve V-8 and six-speed automatic transmission Trailer Boats March '2009 number ( "Being able to go"), and was impressive. We found it to provide abundant energy, excellent maneuverability and handling firmly planted. Months later, however, we thought it might be interesting to see what this truck would do if one of them packing smaller available 4.6L V-8 engine under its hood. To address the issue one step further, we went "old school" and have one delivered with two-valve 4.6. Is done to our expectations? Do you burn significantly less fuel? We had a lot of questions. This is what we discovered.
LARGE PART OF THE SAME
For all intents and purposes, you get the same truck when you order it with one of the smaller V-8 engines. It is based on a totally safe, hydro formed steel ladder style frame, a double wishbone short-and long-arm independent front suspension with springs on collisions with double ball redesigned to improve handling common links, and a leaf spring live rear axle suspension with shocks mounted side roll for improved stability. AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control), the systems are integrated into the four channels, four-wheel brakes ABS to help keep the vehicle under control on the platform or in settings of body roll. All 2009 F-150s also come with the new swing control system of trailer, which is particularly sensitive to yaw rate movements on the chassis of the truck, and may influence signal damping action to the motor and the system brake to help control trailer sway. The interior is the same basic design, although the STX SuperCab 4×2 model was much less than the 5.4 fitted dress SuperCrew we had before. And certainly the rear-seat passengers in the SuperCab is less comfortable than traveling by SuperCrew the second row of seats. All controls, dials and switches are easy to reach and manipulate. In general, visibility around the truck from the driver's seat is good, although much of the head restraints block front seats of the driver on-the-left-over shoulder view of the driver's side window rear passenger door on the SuperCab model.
SOME DIFFERENCES
In terms of capacity goes, the 4.6-engined F-150 does not give much compared with 5.4 when it comes to cargo GVWR useful. With 4.6, the burden falls only 150 pounds for 1580, and the total gross weight down to just 300 pounds for 6700. The GCWR and towing capacity take a hit pretty good, though. The GCWR drops of £ 6000 to 11,100, the maximum number of trailer weight lost 5400 points for a towing capacity of 5,800-lb. Let this in perspective, however. How many of you actually tow a boat trailer that weighs 10,000 pounds? Not that many as it seems. In fact, our survey among readers, shows that about 75 percent of readers Trailer towing vessels under £ 7000, and about 55 percent less than 5000 lbs trailer. That means that the 4.6-engined F-150 that we tested is capable of towing the boats owned by more than half of the readers of Trailer Boats. With 4.6, you do not receive new Ford high-tech six-speed transmission. Our tester came with an outside diameter of four-speed automatic transmission. Frankly, worked perfectly well, with crisp, clean and change gear hunting remarkable. You do not get the highest price, either. The 5.4-equipped F-150 SuperCrew 4×4 we tested had a base MSRP of $ 37,990 and a price of $ 46,495 as tested (loaded to the brim with extras). The 4.6-equipped and modestly optioned 4×2 SuperCab wore a Price test of $ 30,990. Its base MSRP was $ 26,495. Take the difference and stick on the bench.
BOTTOM LINE
The numbers say a lot of history. Trawlers during testing of the two trucks that were within 700 pounds of each other. In both tractor-trailer and not situations, the valve two 4.6 showed moderate fuel savings compared to 5.4. On stretches of road and city maps with driving the boat on the trailer, 4.6 never broke a sweat. He pulled the stop loading a relatively easy walk, and crossed the road with very little pedal pressure. Only when we got in the hills of the truck is starting to show its Achilles heel. In mild degrees above, we have changed down in third gear (OD turned off) and had no problems. But when I got promoted steeper, the transmission had to be dropped into second gear, and made the top of the Cajon Grade 6 percent to a pace 50 mph with the engine speed at about 3500 rpm. Overall, the Ford we've tested with 4.6 is a solid performer capable of towing the vessel of 5,250 pounds. It has its shortcomings, compared to the 5.4, but this evidence confirms what we had theorized – the 2009 Ford F-150 4×2 driven two-valve 4.6L V-8 is a good option to consider when looking for a vehicle tug again. It can handle the towing of boats that most of you have parked in his driveway.
