New tires and wheels is not good after three trips to the tire shop, not sure what to do.?
I have a Civic LX 98 and be replaced with identical my Michelin tires. Great sale on aluminum wheels, so I bought new 5 spoke too. I had to take the car three times, the starting time of the first who rode like a low rider with hydraulic lifts. They put on a back tire and the rest were not balanced. Redid much better but still shaken by the slightest blow. He ordered a ring of the wheel and the car runs normally until I hit bumps. Has This "snap" sound of the front wheels and still too little rebound if a bump or go over railroad tracks. For now I do not trust this particular store, any idea what's going on? I take it to Honda and they take a look at another store in the chain or tires. Never, never had a problem with this car company.The recently was attended by Honda, is handled well before the new tires / wheels. I am at my wits end.
This seems most unusual. If the tires and wheels are balanced properly, there should be a rebound only in RR tracks, especially with a snap "." As you probably know, a tire balance is often worse at a certain speed. Sometimes stores do not know the aluminum wheels just put the weight of the wheel in one hand. With wheels wide, this creates an equilibrium condition with increasing speed. Potholes or RR tracks should have nothing to do with it. Sounds like you have a loose plank in the front. This may explain the unusual rebound in the beating and the knocking noise. Based on his experience so far, I would go to another store and have to look at his car. Stores experienced tire rear tire not to or forget to balance them. Good luck.
