How to replace a 1992 Ford Explorer rusted brake lines is leaking fluid?
Recently as two days ago, my ford explorer 1992 has placed the brake line (the bond of steel part after the hose connection) suddenly started leaking brake fluid. It is very rusty! Let me add that this vehicle was used to launch boats by its previous owner (it has the capacity 4×4-not work now). How do I fix this? How much does a job like this cost? What pieces do I need? I also have to do it towed to the repair shop, without any brakes, What is the safest way to this? Can I use a F-150 Pick Up truck brake lines to replace my Ford Explorer! a friend of mine mentioned that work.
The brake line is just a steel tube that contains the brake fluid pressure. You could probably get away with only the theft of the front line with another similar vehicle – but should not cost too much for a store to make a new line for you and install it. Note that line from now you blow air into the line. This would make your brakes feel soft and does not function properly even with a new line there. You have to bleed the brake system (probably something you should have a store to do). It should not be difficult for any store to do. Parties likely to be $ 30, labor is $ 80 or so.
